HubPages…More Google Juice for Your Morning – Are You Getting Yours?

How many of you have heard of HubPages? How many are you using it?

I signed up a while back because “it was the thing to do,” along with Squiddo. I must admit I never used the accounts for more than a few days, got bored and moved on to something else I found that cooler.

After talking to a friend of mine who swears by it, I decided to give it another chance. Reasons why it has the cool factor for me now:

  • So far I have found it easy to use
  • I can add my Google AdSense account information to it
  • “Capsules” can be added such as video, RSS feed, polls and more!
  • My girlfriend said within an hour she was first with Google for the keywords for an article she submitted

Take a look, if you have questions, let me know.

Endangered Babies

Burrowing owls near my house – I have 2 nests within walking distance – - – they are so cute! Not a great pic since I took it out the car window with my phone.

Marketing on a Shoestring Budget (Wait….my shoestrings are missing)

ar124389714372958 Marketing on a Shoestring Budget (Wait....my shoestrings are missing)

The market is rough, marketing strategies have changed and there are never enough minutes in the day – unless you remove sleep from your schedule.

Trying to balance your business, personal time and family has become increasingly difficult, especially with “Social Networking” necessary these days to keep up with the industry standard for marketing real estate.

Marketing is NECESSARY for your survival and it does not have to be overwhelming if you create a schedule and stick to it. And, it doesn’t have to break the bank – if fact, if you review below you are not spending “hard money” on marketing.

My recommended daily marketing routine:

  • Active Rain – Get up in the morning – surf other blogs to learn from and comment on blogs that interest you to increase your points. Also, write and post your daily blog(s)
  • Copy .html code from Postlets.com ad and paste into CraigsList and BackPage.
  • Post ads on Kijiji
  • Upload video of new listing to YouTube that you created using Picasa, Photobucket, etc.
  • Tweet (Tweet Deck is great – use it – makes tweeting easier to follow if you are not mobile)
  • Review your Google analytics and tweak website accordingly
  • Call, email or send a personalized note to at least 1 past client and 1 SOI
  • Ask friends and family to bookmark your blog, profile and business URL with their Delicious account
  • Ask friends and family to Digg your recent posts
  • Once a week, “Brand” listings and update profile on Trulia
  • Enter leads from previous day into your spreadsheet (so you can review and adjust your marketing at the end of the month)
  • Once a week visit www.HubSpot.com to see if Website grade has increased (only if you have made prior changes)
  • It’s Monday – take a peek at LinkedIn account to review “recommended connections” – upload new contacts from address book (it will sort them for you)
  • On Tue – Thu, submit your weekly press release

Benefits of Social Networking

As real estate agents we all understand the importance of social networking. With society so fast paced today networking can be a difficult thing to accomplish along with everything else that needs to be done. Modern lives are much more complicated and busy and using tools to help agents connect with home buyers and sellers can increase your business immensely.

Utilizing web sites like Facebook, twitter and youtube not only will increase the exposure of your business, it will allow sellers and buyers to get to know you on a personal level. People really like to work with people they know a little about. Posting pictures of your toy poodle or your love of all things made out of macramé may not seem vitally important to your business at first when the society for the preservation of macramé calls for you to list their head quarters you will be smiling all the way to the bank.

This scenario may be far fetched but the concept is very sound and has been proven to work again and again. It works because it is based on a concrete marketing principle that social networking leads to sales. It is all about who you know.

The internet is an excellent tool to help you get your name out to the people who can benefit from your business the most. In the process of telling people about you through these helpful online web sites, you will get the huge advantage of forming contacts along the way. A lot of different people use the net to research people, businesses and many other things. In fact for most people the internet is the first place they go to when needing some information. Make sure you are at the top of the list in your area and use the net to form lasting relationship that will help your business immensely.
