  1. Ensure that your “Privacy” settings are “I would like my blog to be visible to everyone, including search engines (like Google, Bing, Technorati) and archivers” – the default is to block search engines.
  2. Go to “writing” and scroll down to the “Update Services” text box. Click here to view the list of services to add to the text box (the list is long – source = WordPress). Because of the time needed to “ping” each site, it is recommended that you add a plug-in that doesn’t delay the process so there isn’t a delay between your ability to post articles. (List posted separately)

SEO PLUGIN:

I prefer to use the Platinum SEO or the All in One SEO Pack – they are both great plugins to help your site get the search engine recognition it deserves.

For each post and page added to your site, be sure to get into the routine of filling out the information utilizing the SEO plugin.

  1. Title
  2. Description
  3. Keywords

SITE MAP

I prefer to use Google XML Site Map (http://www.arnebrachhold.de/projects/wordpress-plugins/google-xml-sitemaps-generator/) for automatic submission of updates to major search engines & directories.

Blogging is the new way for gorilla advertising!

No longer do agents have to spend thousands of their hard earned dollars to get a list of names to send direct sales copy to. Those of us foolish enough to have bought names in the past know the small chance they will actually turn into a sale but it is how businesses have advertised for many, many years. We no longer need this antiquated system though.

The Internet age is truly here!

Now real estate agents can set up a WordPress blog site for under a $100 and start posting the useful information buyers and sellers need and want right away. No letters to fold, stamps to purchase, or late nights spent stuffing and licking envelopes.

Smart agents know blogging is the way to go. Simply by posting a couple of posts a day your site will start to heat up as people discover your posts and the valuable information they contain. Where is the first place everybody goes to find out how to install a water heater, or green up their front grass before a showing? The Internet of course! It is packed full of golden gems of knowledge and has become the one place to get a million different ideas, tricks, and hints from the experts.

The best part about utilizing this vast network of potential home buyers and sellers is that they are contacting you! No more cold calls or knocking on neighbors’ doors. Blogging gives you a perfect medium to show case your expertise, inform your clients of upcoming changes in your business and most important keep you at the top of their mind when they think of a real estate agent. By keeping in touch with them through blogging you will be the first person they call when buying or selling their home.
